The Bed Slipper

‘Leave your troubles at the edge of the bed’,
A wise old slipper once said.
Never go to sleep with anger in your heart,
For anger is how tomorrow will start.
Rest your eyes with a mind that is calm,
And drift to dreams like soothing balm.
The difficulties of today do leave behind,
So tomorrow can be fresh, one of a kind.
Each morning let the sun kiss you hello,
And the grass kiss your feet below.
Leave all troubles at the edge of the bed,
So you can wake and love what’s ahead.
